My first pick of the week is issue two of the totally awesome Hulk. really did not expect to like this book as much as I do and certainly did not expect to be adding it to my pull list but have to say it has totally won me over very quickly. It is an entertaining exciting and fresh approach to a very tried and tested much loved classic character that may not be so warmly received by some hulk fans but so far for me it seems to be working

My second pick of the week is issue three of the Vision. first things first this is a weird ass book and totally not what you would expect from a comic about the vision and that is one of the reasons why I love it so much. Writer tom king portrays a surreal and uncomfortably creepy world where things are not what they seem very reminiscent of twin peaks which slots in perfectly yet stands alone in the all new all different marvel comics universe and has essentially created my new favourite horror book.

My first pick of the week is Howard the Duck issue Issue 3. Space and time based storylines are weird. Throw in the meta-character of Howard the Duck and it is just weird on a whole new level. I love this sort of original story telling and thinking. The beauty of it is that you don't have to take it too seriously either. A must on my list at the moment.

My second pick is A-FORCE issue 1. An all female team of some of my favourite Marvel Heroes. What isn't there to love? Here we find our characters regrouping after the events of Secret Wars, unfortunately not all parties seem privvy to the information that they were a team once. The character of 'Singularity' is instantly loveable. I hope the story just focuses around her all the time and her perspective. And this is coming from someone who is a die hard Captain Marvel fan and she's on this team too (and yes, I got that cover :D).
